Breeder quality badges explained

This page explains how breeder quality badges are assigned on GermanShepherdDogBreeders.com. Badges are based on publicly confirmable information — not opinions, payments, or popularity.

We do not sell dogs, broker placements, or rank breeders by price or sales volume.

🏅 Ultimate Breeder

Highest documented standard

A breeder may receive the Ultimate badge when all of the following criteria are publicly confirmable:

Orthopedic health testing: Published hip and elbow certifications (e.g., OFA, SV, or equivalent registry)
Genetic screening: Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) test results disclosed
Titled dogs: Dogs in the breeding program hold recognized working, sport, or conformation titles
Program transparency: Clear public information about breeding goals, temperament focus, and placement practices
Established breeder presence: Verifiable kennel identity, location context, and ongoing program history

What this badge does NOT mean:
The Ultimate badge does not imply endorsement, guarantees, or purchase recommendations. It reflects documented transparency and credentials only.

✅ Verified Breeder

Documented signals present

A breeder may receive the Verified badge when one or more of the following are publicly documented, but not all Ultimate criteria are met:

Some health testing disclosed (hips, elbows, or genetic screening)
Titled dogs or working certifications are shown
Clear kennel identity and public contact presence
Program details are partially documented

Verification is evidence-based, not subjective.

⭕ Listed (No Badge)

Informational listing

Breeders without a badge are not unqualified.

This status simply means:

Public documentation is incomplete, unclear, or not yet reviewed
Additional proof may still be pending or unavailable

Listings are included to improve discovery and transparency — not to rank or judge breeders.

How badges are assigned

Badges are based only on publicly available information
No breeder can purchase a badge or ranking
Badge status may change if documentation is updated or removed
Corrections are welcome and reviewed case-by-case
